My lust for love

I asked so many an hour,

I asked when my eyes filled and tears flowed,

I asked when my heart cried and my soul yearned.

I asked, why not for me?

I cried from the top, fickle and bruised,

Then I cried a little again,

This time hurt with a little sorrow

and finally I cried

With all my might, deep and with my soul.

For such is the journey, from pain love is born.

I was given many a chance that maybe could have been;

I picked wrong and wrong and wrong again.

I left, they left, but never did I find

The arms that stayed. As time grew on,

Life grew on, and became so much more.

I filled hollows with hope, with learning

And with loving me twice as much.

Life has been dark at times, alone at times,

Scorned and scared by others.

“Sorry,” they would say, “it must be hard,

Another year alone; no arms to wrap you snug and warm;

No one person to share the moments of the day.

What I knew to be true was that this love

Was going to come, and shall it will.

It is going to be the truest and greatest

In all its might. For the broken love harder;

For those who cried the most love harder;

For those who intentionally became aware of their unknowns

Love harder; for those who’ve been impatiently patient

Not willing to accept the slightest flaw, love harder.

So tease me and say I am spinning from your dizziness;

I am gobbling like time is ending because I fear

Something so pure and real cannot be mine,

Cannot be forever, cannot be so perfect

Yet filled with imperfections at every turn.

For I fear my greatest fear:

Time will never be enough for me and you.

All the great loves run out - Did Juliet not die for refusing to accept a world without Romeo?

Did Heathcliff not turn bitter and cold for Cathy,

Who assumed love could be found

Within the confines of the many that dictate insecurities?

 And should this not happen, there are the hands

And fates of God, for the only constant in life

Is that there will be a time when we are no more.

So tease me, my love, I am a sceptic

In the cruel realities of Father Time’s games.

I have found myself in your life;

I am the light that will be your compass.

I know the risks we take in choosing the two;

We cannot walk away, for the bond is already here;

And our fates are forever tied.

Focus on the paths we can choose, my love,

And choose each other for all the days to come.

And now you are my love,

My truest, deepest and safest love.

From the moment the moment became,

It was only you for me.

Grow in my love, shine from my light,

Rise from my tears, walk in my hope,

Pray in my faith; you are for me,

And I am for you.

It’s okay to start afraid

You walked so sure, and knew too quickly, Like you’d planned what needed to be said; You took your stance and got us drinks, Never captured by my gaze.

Our first fight

Where do I start? You dropped me, like it was so easy and fine. It hurt because you had things to do. You say I am the light, stars to your dark moon, but you dropped me so easily, as if it wer
